Education and capabilities
Support learning that helps communities respond to trauma and build resilience.
Books, stories, and films help Ukrainians rebuild identity and belonging. Successful settlement and long-term well-being depend on education and cultural connection. Okanagan 4 Ukraine supports Ukrainian-language books, educational resources, and cultural initiatives such as Ukrainian film nights and concerts.
These programs help newcomers maintain identity, support learning, and build understanding between Ukrainians and the wider community.
Community engagement
Strengthen identity, belonging, and cultural understanding for Ukrainians rebuilding their lives in Canada, through trauma recovery and community healing.
War leaves deep psychological impacts on children, parents, and educators. Okanagan 4 Ukraine supports trauma-informed training and community learning for teachers, school districts, clergy, and community leaders, so they can respond with understanding and care.

Humanitarian support
Provide humanitarian assistance and recovery support for civilians affected by war.
Bread has long symbolized life, dignity, and welcome. Now it is a lifeline. Okanagan 4 Ukraine supports Peremoha (Victory) Bread, a volunteer-run bakery in Kyiv providing free daily bread to people affected by war. Since the full-scale invasion, the bakery has delivered more than 3 million loaves. Despite air raids and power outages, volunteers continue to produce approximately 2,000 loaves each day. At about $0.40 per loaf, even a small donation helps provide bread for families living through war.
We also support the Superhumans Centre in Ukraine, an internationally recognized organization providing prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation, and psychological care to civilians injured by war. Donations go towards surgical materials and services that allow survivors to regain independence and begin rebuilding their lives.
Trauma and community support
Help provide comfort, counseling, and hope to those living through war.
In Ukraine, clergy serve on the front lines of human suffering by supporting displaced families and communities affected by war. They offer spiritual care, counseling, and humanitarian outreach where trauma and loss are part of daily life.
Through trusted partners, Okanagan 4 Ukraine helps sustain this vital work of presence, compassion, and hope. Support is provided based on need regardless of background or belief
